Finch, who was born in the city of La Mirada, California. when she was five, began playing softball at the age of five. Doug Finch, the father of Jennie was her very first pitching trainer. Jennie aged 10 years old when she began using the Finch Windmill which was a hand conditioning device invented by Doug. When she was in high school, Jennie pitched six perfect game, and had 13 no-hitters. The next place she went to was the University of Arizona. She became a three time All-American as well as an First Baseman. She was awarded the Honda Award, given to the top players in softball in 2001 after the Wildcats were awarded the title of champions in national competition and then in 2002 was clinched by her. The Wounded Warrior Amputee Softball Team (WWAST) goal is to create awareness through exhibition and celebrity softball games of the sacrifices, perseverance and dedication of our troops and to highlight their capability to conquer any obstacle.
